BayWa r.e. develops renewable energy projects in collaboration with investors, project developers, energy utilities, public institutions, and companies. BayWa r.e. is a subsidiary of BayWa AG. The company supports the expansion of renewable energy and thereby contributes to the transformation of the energy system. In doing so, it draws on expertise from various sectors of the industry as well as modern technological solutions. BayWa r.e. is active in the development, construction, and operation of wind power, solar power, and battery storage projects and also operates as an independent power producer. In addition, the company has expertise in plant operation and energy trading. BayWa r.e. is also active internationally in the solar wholesale sector. Through these activities, the company contributes to the implementation of the energy transition and to reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Wood Pellets from Sustainable Forestry
Since September 2016, BayWa Premium wood pellets have been 100% PEFC-certified. This means that the sawdust used to produce BayWa Premium pellets comes from sustainably managed forests. Since PEFC certification is typically limited to wood pellet producers and sawmills, the certification of BayWa Premium wood pellets is exceptional.
Biodegradable Lubricants
Rapidly biodegradable lubricants can help reduce environmental risks in the event of unavoidable lubricant spills. They are particularly suitable for use in ecologically sensitive areas, such as agriculture, forestry, or aquatic environments. The biodegradable TECTROL TERRA products meet recognized requirements for biodegradability according to OECD 301, and some have been awarded environmental labels such as the Blue Angel or the EU Ecolabel. In addition, a large portion of the products is based on renewable raw materials. BayWa offers rapidly biodegradable lubricants for numerous professional applications.
Lubricants in the Circular Economy: Conserving Resources, Reducing Emissions
TECTROL re:source lubricants are produced from re-refined waste oil, thereby contributing to the circular economy. By reprocessing used lubricants, fossil raw materials are conserved and environmental impacts associated with the extraction and transportation of crude oil are avoided. At the same time, the products contribute to the efficient use of resources through lower energy and oil consumption as well as longer change intervals. According to a certified life cycle assessment, CO₂ emissions can be significantly reduced compared to conventionally produced lubricants.*
* CO₂ savings based on a life cycle assessment (ifeu, 2022) in accordance with ISO 14040/44, DEKRA-certified. Depending on the product, CO₂ savings of up to 90% compared to conventional lubricants are possible.
