Our understanding

A responsible approach to people and natural resources has been an integral part of BayWa’s corporate strategy for generations.

This conviction comes from BayWa’s cooperative roots, shaped by partnership, stability and reliable planning. The environment and the climate, employees, the market, quality of life − BayWa has not only set strategic sustainability targets in these fields of action, it has also defined how to handle global opportunities and risks. Back in 2016, the company aligned its aims with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sustainability strategy 2030

Dealing responsibly with our employees, customers, and suppliers as well as with natural resources has been firmly anchored in our company operations for generations. In our opinion, economic success can only be sustainable if we also assume responsibility for the social and ecological impact of our company operations. The framework for our sustainability work is provided by the BayWa Sustainability Strategy 2030.

Focus on global goals

In 2020, BayWa was named one of "50 Sustainability & Climate Leaders" by the United Nations and Bloomberg. The film published for this purpose shows how BayWa, as a traditional conglomerate, is driving the agricultural, energy and building materials sectors forward through sustainable innovations. Back in 2016, the company aligned its aims with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
