A brief profile of the Building Materials Segment
With its Building Materials business unit, the Building Materials Segment covers the entire range of products and solutions for building materials – from civil engineering, structural engineering, construction, renovation, modernisation, gardening and landscaping, to solution packages for energy efficient and healthy building. The key regions for the Building Materials Segment are southern Germany and Austria, where BayWa is one of the leading providers in the building materials trade. This range of products is aimed at construction companies, municipalities, trades and commercial enterprises, as well as renovators and private individuals building their own homes.
In addition to this, BayWa also provides customers with a variety of services, for example in the field of building services engineering, as well as expertise and support when it comes to innovative topics such as healthy construction, energy efficiency or building information modeling (BIM).
Digital offerings are increasingly bolstering traditional business by providing fresh momentum and additional sales channels. These offers include:
- the BayWa Building Materials Online portal, the online shop for business and private customers
- the BayWa room designer, the virtual planning tool for houses
- the property configurator "Mr+Mrs Homes", which allows private developers and construction firms to plan and calculate homes online in various configurations and realise them right through to the turnkey handover of the finished house by drawing on a connected network of partners.
