Topping out ceremony for the efficiency house plus settlement

A balanced ratio between energy efficiency and profitability – this is what promotes the energy transformation, says the Bavarian Economic State Secretary Franz Josef Pschierer at the topping out ceremony of the efficiency house plus in Hügelshart close to Augsburg. The housing complex is a role model for future oriented and efficient building, Pschierer adds: The 13 houses, 9 single-family homes and 4 semidetached homes, produce more energy than the residents consume in the annual average.

The settlement counts as Germany’s first efficiency house plus-settlement that follows the criteria of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).  Looking at the full year there is an energy self-sufficiency of about 70 percent. The building project of the asset Grundbesitz- und Vermögensverwaltung GmbH is exemplary for the series maturity of energy efficient, healthy and at the same time economical way of construction.

On the 6th of October 2016 the topping out ceremony was celebrated. The roof timbering is put on the two semidetached homes and three single-family homes; one single-family home already has the photovoltaic system on the roof. The first houses will be ready to move into in April 2017.

The brick houses of the efficiency house plus settlement already meet the requirements that are needed to achieve the building standards 2020. This means: a low energy consumption on the one hand and a high solar coverage for the own energy production paired with an intelligent energy management on the other hand.
